Project Goals

  • Designed and created a 1v1 Deathmatch level in Unreal Tournament.
  • Planned and designed a map layout start from 0.
  • Built, playtested and polished it in Unreal Tournament editor.
  • The level design supports UT’s core mechanics and Deathmatch gameplay.

  • A landmark is set in the middle to increase memorability. And it complies with Bushnell’s Law: High risk, high reward.
  • Due to death match mechanics, in my level design, I pay more attention to the design of various routes. Players can have multiple routes to any place, giving players more choices and freedom.
